Severe Storms Lead To Flooding, Water Rescues, Road Washouts Across Fairfield County, CT
Rounds of severe storms with drenching downpours have closed roads, flooded homes, and destroyed roads across Connecticut.
According to the National Weather Service, Monroe was one of the hardest-hit areas, with 9.98 inches of rain on Sunday, Aug. 18. Firefighters and police worked throughout the night to rescue trapped drivers and residents from rapid flooding.

Tornado Watch Issued For Connecticut, With 60 MPH Wind Gusts, Hail Also Possible
As a slow-moving storm system barrels through the Northeast, a Tornado Watch has now been issued for much of the region until 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16.
It includes parts of southeastern New York -- Long Island, as well as Westchester, and Putnam counties -- as well as all eight counties in Connecticut, and the following counties in Massachusetts: Berkshire, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, and Worcester.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Fairfield County, Isolated Tornadoes Possible
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is now in effect for much of the region as a new round of storms is expected to roll through with damaging winds and isolated tornadoes possible.
The warning went into effect Thursday, July 21 at 1:30 p.m. and lasts until 2 p.m.
At 1:28 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Mount Kisco, moving northeast at 45 miles per hour, the National Weather Service said.
Golf ball-size hail and 60 mph wind gusts are possible, along with up to 2-inch diameter hail is possible.

Here's How Many Are Still Without Power In Connecticut
Nearly 10,000 residents in Connecticut are still without power more than 24 hours after Tropical Depression Ida made its way through the region.
As of 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, 8,721 of Eversource’s 1.286 million Connecticut customers were still reporting outages, while United Illuminated was still working to repair 127 active outages that were impacting 509 of the company’s customers.

Three days after making landfall in Louisiana as a Category 4 hurricane, Ida ripped through the Northeast, wreaking havoc with numerous power outages, flooding, and road and school closures on Thursday, Sept. 2.
Several tornadoes triggered by the massive storm were reported in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
