Fire Damages Bridgeport Home A Bridgeport home was badly damaged after a fire ripped through the residence. The fire began around midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 140 Marilyn Drive, in Bridgeport, said Terron Jones, a spokesman for the fire department. Responding fire units reported a heavy fire in the ranch-style home.  The couple who lived at the home were alerted by smoke alarms and were able to safely escape, Jones said. Bridgeport firefighters had the fire under control within 45 minutes, he added. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
