An illegal fireworks display is being blamed for a Fourth of July fire at a Fairfield condominium complex. The structure fire was reported at 10:58 p.m. Thursday, July 4 at 4021 Park Ave., according to the Fairfield Fire Department. A sleeping resident was awakened by the sound of the fire and alerted her family and called 911, said the department. Fairfield firefighters rescued three people who were injured and had to be extricated from a heavily damaged SUV and pickup truck following a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday. The crash took place around 10:20 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, in the area of 4680 Black Rock Turnpike, said Fairfield Assistant Chief George Gomola. Person Trapped In Car After I-95 Crash Rescued By Westport Firefighters
Firefighters recused a crash victim using a rope system after the car fell down an embankment. The crash took place around 6 a.m. Sunday northbound on I-95 just north of Exit 18 in Westport, said the Westport Fire Department on Facebook. Arriving firefighters found a single car down an embankment and one occupant trapped inside. Fairfield firefighters were on a run all day Wednesday responding to three fires in under eight hours in addition to EMS and alarm calls.
