Man Critical Following Fairfield County Shooting, Police Say
Police in Fairfield County are investigating after a man was found shot in the yard of a home.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was discovered around 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, when Danbury police officers responded to the area of 67 Rowan St., on the report of shots fired.
Responding officers found the unidentified suffering from gunshot wounds on the ground in a nearby yard, said Det. Captain Bryan Bishop, of the Danbury Police.
The man was taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment where he is listed in critical condition, Bishop said.

Fairfield County's Peter Buck, Subway Co-Founder, Dies At Danbury Hospital
Fairfield County's Peter Buck, who became a billionaire after making a small investment in the sandwich shop that later became Subway, has died.
Buck, a longtime Danbury resident, died Thursday, Nov. 18, at Danbury Hospital, the company announced. A cause of death was not released. He was 90 years old.

One Killed, Two Injured In Fairfield County Crash
A Fairfield County man was killed and two others injured during an early morning crash.
The crash took place around 1:40 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 25 on Danbury Road near the intersection of Route 35 in Ridgefield.
According to Captain Shawn Platt of the Ridgefield Police Department, said Nicholas Vega, age 25, of Danbury, was killed during the crash.
Police said the crash occurred when a vehicle traveling north on Danbury crossed over into the southbound lane striking another vehicle, driven by 71-year-old Edward Makowski, of Bethel.

14-Year-Old Turns Himself In After Shooting At Danbury Mall
A 14-year-old Fairfield County boy has turned himself in to police as being the shooter at an area mall that left a teenage girl shot in the chest.
The shooting took place around 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, near the entrance to Macy's at Danbury Fair Mall during a confrontation between two groups of teens, authorities said.

Woman Charged In Death Of Her 1-Year-Old Grandchild In Fairfield County
A grandmother has been arrested in connection with the death of her 1-year-old grandchild.
Cora Brandon, age 60, of Danbury, was arrested by Danbury Police on Wednesday, May 26, for the Wednesday, March 17, death of the child.
The investigation into the death began when the Danbury Police Department were summoned to the Danbury Hospital for the untimely passing of the child, said Det. Lt. Mark Williams.

Police are asking for witnesses to a three-vehicle crash on the Litchfield Turnpike that left a 39-year-old Fairfield County woman dead.
