Connecticut State Community College Housatonic's new CEO is inviting the community to an open house and tour of the Fairfield County school's Museum of Art. CT Community Colleges To Raise Tuition For 2022-23 Academic Year
Connecticut's 12 community colleges are set to increase tuition for the 2022-2023 academic year. The Board of Regents for Higher Education voted to increase tuition and fees by $224 per year, or $112 per semester for full-time students who pay out of pocket, according to an announcement from Connecticut State Colleges and Universities. “None of us ever want to raise tuition,” CSCU President Terrence Cheng said. “However, I want to note that this does not mean that everyone’s bill will increase. 19: CT Community Colleges Forgive $17M In Student Debt
The president of Connecticut State Colleges and Universities has announced debt relief for community college students hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Debt the students took on that they can’t repay due to the pandemic will be forgiven, CSCU said. In total, $17 million in debt will be forgiven, and it will be paid for with money from the federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. The forgiveness includes all account balances from enrollment during semesters between the summer of 2019 through spring of 2021.
