Bridgeport Nursing Home Operator Sentenced For Embezzlement A Connecticut nursing home operator has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for embezzlement and tax offenses related to the operation of nursing homes. Chaim Stern, age 72, a resident of Flushing,  Queens, was sentenced on Tuesday, April 20, for the offenses related to nursing homes in Bridgeport and Waterbury, said Leonard C Boyle, Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Woman Admits To Embezzling $415K From Health Care Center In Bridgeport A Connecticut woman has admitted to embezzling more than $400,000 from her employers in Fairfield County through a series of fraud and tax offenses. Melissa Meole, 35, of North Branford, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and filing false tax returns for multiple schemes that spanned several years. Meole, who was employed at the Bridgeport Health Care Center Inc., was responsible for processing payroll and for handling the finances of the Bridgeport Manor resident trust account.
