Woman Allegedly Shoplifting Caught After Ramming Fairfield Police Cruiser In Effort To Escape A woman fleeing from a store after allegedly shoplifting rammed a police cruiser in her attempt to escape. The incident unfolded around 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, June 18 when a Fairfield Police officer was flagged down by an employee of Bob’s Stores, on Post Road, who pointed out a vehicle that was fleeing from shoplifting that just occurred at the store, said Fairfield Police Capt. Robert Kalamaras.  The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the woman, driving a Honda, engaged the officer in pursuit for a short distance before stopping.
