The same three, however, fared far worse when analysts looked at the areas to determine where gaps existed in educational achievement based on race, according to the report.
The personal finance website compared the "metropolitan statistical areas" or MSAs to determine where "the most educated Americans" are utilizing their degrees and found that Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk is in 12th place, said WalletHub.
Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk landed at 136 in its rating for "largest racial gap in educational attainment, out ranking only Minneapolis-St. Paul- Bloomington, Minn., Wis. at 137, and 138th position area, Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis, Wis.
In the overall analysis, Bridgeport, Stamford and Norwalk scored 64.64 in total. The breakdown includes 6 for "educational attainment" rank though 148 for "quality of education and attainment gap ranking, according to WalletHub.
The analysis comes in advance of the upcoming fall semester because educational attainment is linked strongly to income level, said WalletHub.
Analysts looked at nine areas, such as the percentage of adults 25 and up with a bachelor's degree or higher to the educational attainment gap of men v. women, according to the report.
