Fifteen-year-old Jalen Crawley was one of about 9,000 teens who took park in the DollarWise campaign, a mini online course offered by the U.S. Conference of Mayors that was designed to teach young people the importance of money management.

That opportunity, coupled with Bank of America’s financial literacy seminar, helped those in The Lighthouse bolster financial literacy that will serve them well throughout life.

Each week DollarWise held a raffle for prizes and Crawley was the fifth winner. Mayor Joe Ganim presented him with his new iPod in August.
