The school is part of an interdistrict magnet campus of three STEM schools at the Fairchild Wheeler campus in Bridgeport.
High school students may select a course of study from three career pathways.
Magnet-theed course co-authored by Wheeler staff and professors are offered through partnerships with the University of Connecticut Early College Experience program and the University of Bridgeport.
The coursework is matched by educational training and experience, offering many STEM-relevant two-credit course choices for students.
A four-year Capstone journey ends in a collaborative project, themed by academic choice.
The schools Principal Joseph Lipp will receive the award on the school's behalf at the Magnet Schools of America’s 35th National Conference in Los Angeles Calif., April 26 to 30.
The award presentation is April 28.
