"I grew up around my parent’s construction company," said Rohr, who was born in Mexico and raised in Goshen, N.Y. "I would go on job sites with my dad when I was younger, helping him with his projects. My mom was also into design and decor." Although she enjoyed being around houses and real state, Rohr didn't initially consider making a career in the field.
A biology major in college, Rohr first explored becoming a doctor. "l aways had an interest in helping and working with other people," she said. After deciding medicine was not her calling though, Rohr ultimately began helping people the way she knew best: through real estate.
"Buying a house is a big deal and can sometimes be stressful," she said. "It’s a long process, so being able to understand people and sympathize with buyers is very important."
Thanks to her early years in Mexico, Rohr is also fluent in Spanish. As a result, she's worked with buyers and sellers from an array of backgrounds. "In one instance there was a call to the office by someone looking for a trustworthy, Spanish-speaking agent," she said. "Being bilingual, I was able to help a local Stratford resident buy a first home."
An agent in the award-winning William Pitt Southport brokerage, Rohr has listed some of Fairfield County's most breathtaking and historic homes. "One of my favorite things about Fairfield County real estate is how unique it is," she said. "Every home is different. Whether it's a historical home or new construction, it's difficult to not find at least one custom feature."
A Norwalk resident, Rohr is an avid runner, having finished several area half marathons. Whether lacing up her sneakers for a long run or preparing a house for market, she believes the same motivation and drive is needed. "No matter what you're doing, working towards a goal or end event is important," she said. "You need to set these personal and professional milestones and have something to look forward to."
