The franchise owner told the Connecticut Post that the fire that broke out at around 1 a.m. Monday was an arson, citing fire officials. The first started in a pair of trash bins that had been placed outside, the Connecticut Post reported.
Nobody was injured and the restaurant was closed at the time, according to the Connecticut Post. The cell phone store that shares a wall with the Subway suffered some smoke damage, but was open on Monday, according to the Connecticut Post.
The owner said that he plans to rebuild and reopen the Subway, but added that it could take months, according to the Connecticut Post. He is worried about his employees, who will be out of a job until the restaurant is rebuilt, according to the Connecticut Post.
