In an April 10 incident, two Bridgeport men were shot after an altercation during an alleged drug deal on Iranistan Avenue, police said.
According to witnesses, Brandon Thompson, 20, of Kennedy Drive, went with friends to Iranistan Avenue at about 11 p.m. to meet with White to buy marijuana, police said.
An altercation ensued, and Thompson was shot in the chest and White was shot in the arm, police said.
After a violent couple of weeks in August in the state's largest city, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy met with Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim, and senior law enforcement officials at the State Police's Troop G headquarters to work on ways to deal with the recent spike in shootings.
Malloy also pledged more money and resources to help Bridgeport's crime-fighting efforts, including increasing the visibility of State Police in the city following the shooting death of a Stamford teen and the wounding of 20 others, including 13 in one incident, in August.
