The shooting took place near the intersection of Newfield Avenue and Beardsley Street at around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, a city spokesperson told the Connecticut Post. The person who was shot managed to get themselves to a hospital for treatment, the Connecticut Post reported.
The shooting is the third on Newfield Avenue this year, following shootings in May and July, the Connecticut Post reported. Since 2015 there have been six non-fatal shootings resulting in injuries on the same three-block stretch, according to the Connecticut Post.
