Livis Rodriguez, 27, of Lawrence, Mass. turned herself in to state police on Monday. She has been charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and failure to maintain a safe lane change, the Connecticut Post reported.
She was released on $10,000 bail, said the Connecticut Post.
The charges stem from a July 7, 2016 crash that killed Akhalia Shameal Jackson of Bridgeport, according to the report.
Jackson was driving near exit 29 when Rodriguez's car crashed into her's, the Connecticut Post reported. Jackson's Toyota Camry was pushed across the highway and slammed into the median, according to the Connecticut Post. She was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where she died shortly afterwards.
