Brenda Fresse, 38, grabbed the baby from the arms of her mother on Dec. 19, 2015 as the mother was getting her keys out to enter her home on Jones Avenue, the story said. Freese ran up and grabbed the baby. The mother's landlord managed to lock a gate to keep Freese and the baby inside the yard. Freese ran after returning the baby to the mother and was later caught.

Freese pleased guilty to risk of injury to children, the story said. Police also said the Department of Children's Services had taken her four children after determining she was an unfit mother. She will be sentenced on April 28, and Superior Court Judge Robert Devlin said she faces prison followed by probation. Click here for the CTPost.com story.
