The act was not a random one, and police have video and hope to make arrests shortly, Bridgeport Police Capt. A.J. Perez told the Connecticut Post.
The thieves gained entry to the home on Old Town Road by forcing a front door and had a gun, according to the Connecticut Post.
The students were hit with a gun and the thieves stole jewelry, watches and cellphones, reported the Connecticut Post. One shot was fired in the basement and two of the students were treated for head cuts, the Connecticut post reported.
