The hooded suspect entered the store with a plastic grocery bag and a weapon, police said. It is unclear whether the weapon was a handgun or a facsimile.

He ordered the employee to fill the plastic bag with money. When the employee called out for the owner of the business, the robber left without any money, police said.

Detectives are investigating whether there is a connection to a second incident that happened at 8:30 p.m. at Another Level Hair Salon, at 2436 Main St.

In that incident, a hooded gunman entered the business with a plastic grocery bag and took money from the owner and a purse from a customer, police said.

Both incidents remain under investigation.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Detective Art Calvao at 203-581-5240.
