Emergency responders called to an assault found Michael Watkins, who had been shot, at the scene, the Post said.
It was unclear whether the fatal shooting was related to an earlier non-life-threatening shooting earlier in the evening, the Post said.
It was the second homicide of the day in Bridgeport. Early Friday, Oscar Hernandez, 39, is accused of stabbing to death Nidia Gonzalez, 26, in their home at 69 Greenwood Road and fleeing with their 6-year-old daughter, police said. The father and daughter were found after a police pursuit near State College, Pa. He was held as a fugitive from justice, and Bridgeport Police said they will be seeking his extradition on a murder charge, Capt. Brian Fitzgerald said.
Police ask anyone with information about the Friday night shootings to call the department’s Tips Line at 203-576-TIPS (8477).
