It was the ninth homicide of the year in the state's largest city.
Esbri had been shot once when he arrived at the home of a friend at 360 Palisade Ave. at 6:45 p.m., police told the Post. The scene is near Bullard-Havens Technical High School.
A possible suspect was in custody at the scene less than an hour later, the Post said, but no information was released about an arrest.
