Khali Davis, of Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting at Kossuth Street and Maple Street, said city spokesman Av Harris.
Officers responded at 9:57 a.m. Saturday to a report of a person shot in the Maple Deli Mini Market, Harris said.
When officers arrived, they found Davis, who had been shot multiple times, he said.
"Early information indicates that Davis was standing in front of the store with a small group of people when the shooter approached on foot and opened fire," Harris said. "Davis fled into the store, where he collapsed."
