Clark Thomas, 48, of Tuckahoe Drive, Shelton, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory and criminal possession of body armor, police said.
Bridgeport police used search warrants for Thomas, his pickup truck, his home and a second residence on Bridgeport’s North Avenue in their investigation, which revealed he had been distributing large quantities of heroin, crack and marijuana throughout Bridgeport and lower Fairfield County, police said.
On Friday, the Tactical Narcotics Team, working with the FBI and State Police, set up surveillance outside the Shelton home and followed Thomas in his Ford truck through the back roads of Shelton to the Merritt Parkway.
He was taken into custody with assistance from Norwalk police, police said.
Thomas was found with a large quantity of marijuana and $18,400 in a plastic bag, which police believe came from illegal drug sales.
Seized at the North Avenue home were 400 bags of high-grade heroin, more than 300 grams of crack-cocaine, more than 100 grams of powder cocaine, about two ounces of marijuana, body armor and about $5,000 in jewelry, police said.
At the Shelton home, officers assisted by Shelton detectives and a drug detection K-9 officer, found a money counter and more evidence, police said.
Thomas was held on $50,000 bond, pending his arraignment.
