Bridgeport Music Teacher Charged With Assaulting Special Ed Student

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport music teacher is facing charges after a student accused her of grabbing her wrist and forcing her to sit down, according to The Connecticut Post.

Lydia Struble, a teacher in Bridgeport and a Stratford resident, is charged with third-degree assault.

Lydia Struble, 51, a Stratford resident who teaches at Thomas Hooker Elementary School, was charged with third-degree assault, the Post said.

The alleged incident from Feb. 4 involved a 13-year-old special education student at the K-8 school, the Post reported.

Struble has denied manhandling the girl, who was taken to Bridgeport Hospital with scratches and bruising, the Post story said.
