Bridgeport Man Joins Ranks As Connecticut State Trooper

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Fifty-eight new graduates of the 125th Training Troop have joined the ranks of the Connecticut State Police.

Col. Brian Meraviglia, commander of the state police, congratulated and swore in the graduates, and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman addressed the class during a ceremony at Jorgensen Auditorium at the University of Connecticut.

The 125th training troop entered the Connecticut State Police Training Academy on June 25 and completed about 1,400 classroom hours in addition to physical conditioning, water rescue, driving and other areas. 

Troopers will be assigned as follows: 

  • Troop A, Southbury – 5 new Troopers 
  • Troop B, Canaan – 3 new Troopers 
  • Troop C, Tolland – 5 new Troopers 
  • Troop D, Danielson – 10 new Troopers 
  • Troop E, Montville – 5 new Troopers 
  • Troop F, Westbrook – 2 new Troopers 
  • Troop G, Bridgeport – 7 new Troopers 
  • Troop H, Hartford – 10 new Troopers 
  • Troop I, Bethany – 4 new Troopers 
  • Troop K, Colchester – 4 new Troopers 
  • Troop L, Litchfield – 3 new Troopers
