Bridgeport Hospital Returns To Normal Operations After ER Incident

UPDATE: BRIDGEPORT, Conn. —  Bridgeport Hospital was on “heightened awareness” on Friday afternoon after an incident in the emergency department, the hospital’s senior vice president of operations told the Connecticut Post.

A patient was verbally threatened by a "significant other," but the incident was resolved, the Post said. 

The term "lockdown" was originally used, but it was a case of heightened awareness" handled by Bridgeport police and hospital security, the Connecticut Post said. 

original story: BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Bridgeport Hospital was placed on lockdown Friday after someone made verbal threats, according to the Connecticut Post.

The nature of the threats were not made public as of 4 p.m., but the hospital was placed on lockdown as a precaution, the Connecticut Post reported. Bridgeport Police were on the scene to assist hospital security, a city spokesperson told the Connecticut Post.
