BRIDGEPORT, CONN. -- Bridgeport Hospital has placed one of its doctors on administrative leave after a patient there claimed he had molested him, according to a report by ctpost.com.
Police told ctpost.com that the 53-year-old unidentified man said he had been inappropriately touched by Dr. Louie Gangcuangco while undergoing a medical examination.
The man had recently had heart surgery and was being examined to see if he was healthy enough to have a tooth pulled, the ctpost.com report said.
Gangcuangco, a 29-year-old third-year resident and HIV researcher, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, set free on $75,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in January, the ctpost.com reported.
The ctpost.com article said the man told police that Gangcuangco later called him -- ostensibly to check on how the tooth extraction had gone -- but then tried to invite him out for dinner.
