5 Shot After Fight Breaks Out At Sweet 16 Party In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Five people suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds Saturday night at a crowded Sweet 16 party at a club in Bridgeport that was anything but celebratory, according to the Connecticut Post.

A witness to Saturday’s apparent drowning of a man involved in a bar fight that ended up in Ash Creek on the Bridgeport-Fairfield line said he heard splashing in the water during the time of the reported fight, police said.

The shooting occurred at about 10:40 p.m. at Club Sportiva at 2500 Park Ave. after a fight inside spilled outside at the party, which had about 300 attendees, police told the Post. 

Police were looking for two suspects, who crashed the party, the Connecticut Post said. Police also said the party organizers should have hired at least two officers for security given the size of the event,the Post said.
