Gregory Hughes, of Bridgeport, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder for his role in the death of Derrick Hill at the restaurant at 500 Park Ave., police said.
Huges has been on the run since shortly after the homicide, according to Lt. Christopher LaMaine of the Detective Bureau.
“His arrest results from the outstanding work of many officers and detectives, specifically the lead detective, Detective Robert Winkler, and the tireless work of the members of the Fugitive Task Force,” LaMaine said.
Hughes was being held on $500,000 bond, police said.
Hill died at the scene of the July 25 shooting. Dennis Hines, 50, who was identified as the owner of the restaurant, was also shot in the incident but sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said.
According to his obituary, Hill was born in Stamford and had been a stockperson at Walmart in Norwalk.
In addition to his parents, he was survived by two sons and two daughters, several siblings and other relatives.
