The incident took place around 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the 200 block of Pine Street, said Scott Appleby, director Bridgeport Office of Emergency Management.
When police arrived on the scene, they found more than 30 shell casings, Appleby said.
The woman was transported to Bridgeport Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Appleby said the woman was injured when a person was shooting at her friend's vehicle. During the shooting, the woman received lacerations to her head and hip.
Police found a bullet in the vehicle that matched shell casings found at the Pine Street scene, Appleby said.
