The police chase along Park Avenue ended near the Walgreens at Fairfield Avenue at about 5 p.m. when the car crashed, the Post said, quoting a Bridgeport Police Department source.
That's when the driver turned on the officers and struck them, and the officer in turn shooting at the car, the Connecticut Post said.
Three officers with unspecified injuries were taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, and the wounded passenger was taken to Bridgeport Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the Post said.
The Connecticut State Police said it had been called in to investigation because it was a police-involved shooting.
The investigation blocked the roadways for hours, and crowds of people turned out to try to find out what had happened, according to NBC Connecticut.
