Themel was born in Korce, Albania, and ran the Granfield Superette grocery store in Bridgeport with her husband, Archie. She was a member of the Teuta Ladies Society and St. George Albanian Orthodox Church.
She is survived by her children, Priscilla Carameta and her husband, Tom of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Peter Themel and his wife, Cheryl of Boca Raton, Fla., grandchildren James Carameta, Mary Sak and her husband Steve, Jennifer Themel, Stacey Hirst and her husband Rick, Allyson Hirst and her husband David, and three great-grandchildren, Peter, Sophia and Elizabeth.
She was predeceased by her husband and her sister, Georgia Ndini.
Visiting hours are on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. George Albanian Orthodox Church, 5490 Main St. in Trumbull. Trisagion services are set for 6:30 p.m.
The church will host a funeral service on Tuesday at 10 a.m., followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery in Bridgeport.
