BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Joseph P. Kirchon, 93, of Bridgeport, died Monday, May 4.
He was born in Scranton, Pa., to Joseph and Anna Gergel Kolecany.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Marines. He was a retired supervisor of maintenance for the Bridgeport Board of Education, where he worked for more than 25 years.
Survivors include his son, Joseph P. Kirchon III and his wife, Frances, of Berlin, N.J.; two grandsons; his daughter Faith Kirchon; and a granddaughter of Bridgeport.
He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Florence Tekin Kirchon.
Calling hours will be on Thursday after 10 a.m. for the immediate family at the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, May 7 at 11 a.m. in St. Andrew's Church with interment taking place at a later date.
