Born Sept. 28, 1939, in the Villanova De Veiga, Chaves, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel and Umbelina Gloria Rodrigues. He was an avid sports fan, who always enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and feeding the birds in his backyard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Mary McCarthy; a brother and sister-in-law; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by one brother, one sister and one son-in-law.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady Of Fatima Church, 1282 Noble Ave., Bridgeport. Burial will be private.
Cody-White Funeral Home has been entrusted to handle the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the organization of ones choice in Rodrigues’ name.
