He is survived by his wife, Maria A. Fernandes; three sons, Jose Jr.; Carlos and his wife, Michele; Joao and wife, Holly; six grandchildren; one sister in Portugal; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends may call Monday, April 27, from 4-8 p.m. at the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. A funeral will be held Tuesday, April 28, at 10 a.m. directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Road, Bridgeport. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
