BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Gladys (Adelida) Antonio, a longtime Bridgeport resident, died Monday, March 9, at the Lutheran Home. She was 85.
Antonio was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Bridgeport to Domingos and Ana Santos, She graduated from Central High School, was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and the Vasco da Gama Club. and was a co-owner of Antonio's Market in Bridgeport with her husband, Anibal J. Antonio, for 30 years.
She was predeceased by her husband; brothers Americo and George Santos; and sister Irene Balanca, She is survived by her children, Jeanette Baron and her husband, Paul, of Southbury, Anne Casey of East Falmouth, Mass., and David Antonio of Stratford; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; a brother, Abilio Santos of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 12, at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. S., Southbury.
Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown. There are no calling hours, and arrangements are by Carpino Funeral Home in Southbury.
