Freda Poirier, 91, Of Bridgeport, Retired Chef

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. — Freda Forsyth Poirier, a longtime Bridgeport resident, died on Tuesday, March 24. She was 91.

She was born in New Bedford, Mass. to Robert and Amy Platt Forsyth

She lived in Bridgeport for 60 years and retired as head chef of the H. Smith Richardson Golf Course in Fairfield,

Poirier is survived by her husband, Marc R. Poirier; their children, Roger L. Poirier of Bethel, Diane J. Riccio and husband, Carl of Watertown, Robert D. Poirier and wife Christine, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Linda S. Ryan and husband, Thomas of West Haven, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be on Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place in Trumbull. Funeral services will follow.

Interment will be private at Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Jude Memorial Research Hospital, 501 St .Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
