Frances Wasco, 98, Of Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. – Frances Wasco, a longtime resident of Bridgeport, died Thursday, April 9 in Maefair Health Center in Trumbull. She was 98.

Wasco was born in Bridgeport on Dec. 11, 1916, to John and Mary (nee Pavlik) Wasco, retiring from International Harvester.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Frank, her sisters, Mary and Ann Wasco, Helen Adzima, Elsye Coskey. Ethyle Bekech and Patricia Bigda, and nephew Richard Adzima.

Wasco is survived by her nieces and nephews, Eleanor Adzima, Gary Adzima and his wife Carole, Robert Wasco and his wife Betty, Alix Semanchik and her husband Don, Tica Webster, Carl Bigda and his wife Cathy, great-nieces and nephews, Greg, Matt, Andrea, Peter, Christina, Mary, David, Kimberly, Brian, Laurie and Sandra, and 21 great-great-nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, with funeral services to follow. A requiem service will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Wasco's memory to St. John's Church are welcomed.
