Born in Saõ Joao De Corveira, Portugal, on Sept. 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Emilia Batista Borges. She was a Bridgeport resident for the past 47 years and retired from Acme Shear Co. She was a loving caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her sons, Joao Borges of Bridgeport; Manuel Vaz and wife, Sandra, of Florida; Frank José and wife, Fatima, of Shelton, Conn.; daughters Maria Alice Silveira and husband, Antonio, of Monroe, Conn.; Michelle Licitra of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francisco José; four brothers; and one sister.
Burial took place in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford, Conn.
