Thousands Still Without Power Across Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — More than 24 hours after powerful thunderstorms blew across Fairfield County, thousands of residents are still without power on Friday morning.

Trees were knocked down throughout Connecticut on Wednesday night, resulting in widespread power outages.

The storms knocked down trees and power lines across the entire state.

As of 8:30 a.m. Friday, Eversource and United Illuminating were reporting the following outages, with a projected repair time:

Bethel: 305 customers, repaired by 11:30 p.m. Friday
Danbury: 236 customers, repaired by 6 p.m. Friday
Darien: 82 customers, repaired by 8 p.m. Friday
Fairfield: 406 customers, UI crews were en route
Greenwich: 1,050 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
Monroe: 82 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
New Canaan: 61 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
New Fairfield: 108 customers, repaired by 8 p.m. Friday
Newtown: 520 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
Norwalk: 170 customers, repaired by 11:30 p.m. Friday
Redding: 237 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
Ridgefield: 588 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
Sherman: 128 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
Stamford: 193 customers, repaired by midnight Friday
Weston: 3 customers, no repair estimate
Wilton: 37 customers, repaired by 6 p.m. Friday
