New Freeze Warning Issued For Bridegport As Cold Snap Continues

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Don't be fooled by those sunny skies -- it's frigid out there. And, brrrr, it's going to stay that way until at least Thursday in Fairfield County.

But don't despair, although there is a freeze warning for Tuesday night, at least there's no snow in the forecast.

For those who like to keep track of the snow and ice: 4 inches of snow was measured in New Fairfield on Monday from the storm. The ice measured in at Danbury Airport at 0.12 inches; Bridgeport Airport at 0.11 inches; Sandy Hook at 0.10 inches; and New Fairfield at 0.03 inches.

Residents will want to be prepared for the freeze warning in effect from 8 p.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday, bringing with it temperatures in the upper 20s to the lower teens during the early morning hours. 

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 35. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. North wind around 14 mph.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 17. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Light and variable wind becoming south 9 to 14 mph in the morning.

Wednesday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. South wind 13 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Thursday: Showers. High near 56. South wind 11 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. 

Thursday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
