Metro-North will begin restoring service at the outlying terminal stations after noon Sunday and be fully operational in and out of Grand Central Terminal by 3 p.m. Trains will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Train riders can check the online timetable for Sunday service, Metro-North Train Time or the interactive schedules page.
Metro-North said crews were continuing to dig out the infrastructure, especially in the Bronx, as they clear snow from the tracks, switches, train yards and stations.
Also, employees are checking signals, switches and power systems, which have to be operational before resuming service. Train equipment and crews need to be in position to resume service.
The first trains operating into and out of Grand Central are as follows on the New Haven Line in Connecticut:
Inbound/to Grand Central:
- 12:46 p.m. train from New Haven, connecting with the 1:28 p.m. train from New Canaan and arriving in Grand Central at 2:50 p.m.,
- 2:02 p.m. train from Stamford, arriving in Grand Central at 3:14 p.m.
- 1:10 p.m. train from Waterbury, arriving in Grand Central at 3:50 p.m.
- 1:37 p.m. train from Danbury, arriving in Grand Central at 3:50 p.m.
Outbound/from Grand Central:
- 3:02 p.m. train from Grand Central, connecting the 3:58 p.m. train to New Canaan, and arriving in New Haven at 5:09 p.m.
- 3:05 p.m. train from Grand Central, arriving in Stamford at 4:20 p.m.
- 4:02 p.m. train from Grand Central connecting with the 5:42 p.m. train to Waterbury
- 5:02 p.m. train from Grand Central connecting with the 6:14 p.m. train to Danbury
For information on other train lines, check the Metro-North website. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority shut down Metro-North, Long Island Rail Road and aboveground New York City subways at the height of the storm.
A total of 26.8 inches of snow fell in Central Park, making it New York City's second largest snowstorm ever.
