Any alcoholic beverages found by MTA Police will be confiscated.

Additional service will be provided as demand warrants on the busy day: Metro-North staff will be located at key stations observing the number of customers awaiting trains. The railroad is prepared to make minute-by-minute decisions about when to operate the extra trains.

Customers are advised to buy round-trip tickets at their home stations, using ticket machines. Also, because large crowds are expected, customers should get to the station early to buy tickets.

The New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade can be viewed along Fifth Avenue between 44th and 79th streets, starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
