Mayor, Police Chief to be Recognized for Efforts to Assist Domestic Violence Victims

Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and Police Chief Joseph L. Gaudett Jr. will be recognized Tuesday for their work to raise awareness about domestic violence and help improve the lives of victims.

The two are among the “100 plus” men who will be recognized for their efforts by the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Governor Dannel  Malloy will be present to provide remarks and congratulate the honorees.

“I truly am honored,” said Finch. “The coalition and its member groups do such amazing work every day to help protect and serve domestic violence victims. They deserve the accolades.”

Two other Bridgeport officials will be recognized: Police Officer David Rivera and Maurice Hill, of the Court Support Services Division.

Who:    Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Attorney General George Jepsen, Comptroller Kevin Lembo, Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and Police Chief Joseph L. Gaudett Jr.

What:    “First 100 Plus”, 3rd annual breakfast event to honor and publicly recognize 100 male leaders throughout Connecticut who work to promote domestic violence awareness and improve the lives of victims.

When:  Tuesday, November 19, 2013, 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

            Governor Malloy expected to speak at 8:00 a.m.

Where:  Crowne Plaza Hotel, 100 Berlin Road, Cromwell
