Oscar Hernandez, 39, must decide whether he wants a probable cause hearing in the case in which prosecutors would present their evidence in the case, according to the Post.
Hernandez is charged with murder, attempted murder, first-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor in the case that sparked panic and an early morning Amber Alert on Feb. 24.
Hernandez killed his girlfriend, 26-year-old Nidia Gonzalez, and injured a female friend of Gonzalez in grisly stabbing in the basement apartment they shared on Greenwood Street in Bridgeport. He fled with their 6-year-old daughter, only to be captured hours later in Pennsylvania after crashing into a state police car during a pursuit.
He was held on $1 million bond for his next court date of May 22, the Post said.
Hernandez previously had been deported to his native El Salvador after being convicted of choking a former girlfriend in Stamford.
