Jermaine Richards, a private duty nurse in Bridgeport, was charged with murder in the death of Alyssiah Marie Wiley, 20, of West Haven, who went missing on April 19, 2013. Her partial remains were found 27 days later in a wooded area at the end of Quarry Road in Trumbull, about 2 miles from Richards' Bridgeport home.
Wiley, a sophomore at Eastern Connecticut State University, was last seen getting into Richards' car on the Willimantic campus.
A 12-member jury was also deadlocked on the case last March, Connecticut Post reported.
