No major accidents had been reported, but speeds on I-95 dropped into the teens as heavy snow began to coat the highway during rush-hour, DOT said.

With the snow and slow speeds, traffic could have been worse. But Monday was the Presidents Day holiday and many workers had the day off and schools were closed across the state for the federal holiday.
Speeds on the Merritt Parkway, Route 8/25 and I-84 were reported in the 30s as the snow picked up.
An earlier rollover accidents involving a pickup truck with a snowplow had been cleared from the Merritt in Greenwich. A two-car crash on the Merritt in Stratford had also been cleared.
