But by dinner time Friday, hundreds of people were still in the dark from the powerful thunderstorm that slammed the area early Thursday.
As of 6 p.m. Friday, Eversource were reporting the following outages, with projected repair times:
- Bethel: 60 customers, repaired by 11:30 p.m. Friday
- Brookfield: 12 customers, repaired by midnight Friday
- Danbury: 94 customers, repaired by 6 p.m. Friday
- Darien: 77 customers, repaired by 8 p.m. Friday
- Greenwich: 579 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
- Monroe: 11 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
- New Canaan: 88 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
- New Fairfield: 132 customers, repaired by 8 p.m. Friday
- Newtown: 53 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
- Norwalk: 13 customers, repaired by 11:30 p.m. Friday
- Redding: 40 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
- Ridgefield: 247 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
- Sherman: 130 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
- Stamford: 147 customers, repaired by midnight Friday
- Weston: 3 customers, no repair estimate
- Westport: 8 customers, no repair estimate
- Wilton: 18 customers, repaired by 6 p.m. Friday
Eversource said it hoped to have most of the outages repaired by 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26. But in areas where damage is extensive, necessary repairs may take longer, while other areas may be restored sooner, Eversource said.
UI reported only two small outages Friday afternoon: Bridgeport with 2 customers out, and
