Eversource, UI Still Working To Restore Power Across Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Crews from Eversource spent a sunny but cold Friday working to repair massive power outages across Fairfield County and Connecticut.

But by dinner time Friday, hundreds of people were still in the dark from the powerful thunderstorm that slammed the area early Thursday.

As of 6 p.m. Friday, Eversource were reporting the following outages, with projected repair times:

  • Bethel: 60 customers, repaired by 11:30 p.m. Friday
  • Brookfield: 12 customers, repaired by midnight Friday
  • Danbury: 94 customers, repaired by 6 p.m. Friday
  • Darien: 77 customers, repaired by 8 p.m. Friday
  • Greenwich: 579 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
  • Monroe: 11 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
  • New Canaan: 88 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
  • New Fairfield: 132 customers, repaired by 8 p.m. Friday
  • Newtown: 53 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
  • Norwalk: 13 customers, repaired by 11:30 p.m. Friday
  • Redding: 40 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
  • Ridgefield: 247 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
  • Sherman: 130 customers, repaired by 11 p.m. Friday
  • Stamford: 147 customers, repaired by midnight Friday
  • Weston: 3 customers, no repair estimate
  • Westport: 8 customers, no repair estimate
  • Wilton: 18 customers, repaired by 6 p.m. Friday

Eversource said it hoped to have most of the outages repaired by 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26. But in areas where damage is extensive, necessary repairs may take longer, while other areas may be restored sooner, Eversource said.

UI reported only two small outages Friday afternoon: Bridgeport with 2 customers out, and 

Easton, with 1 customer in the dark.
