Chris German bids Connecticut adieu

Future of Connecticut Community Boating unclear

Hi there- Chris German here- I hope you had a restful and safe holiday weekend. I saw many got out on the Sound this weekend but I did not. I could not in good conscience go boating when so many of our kids and families were stuck inshore suffering the season's first and some would argue worst in a long time heat wave.  I am also writing to let you know I am back for a spell in Connecticut but I do not know for how much longer. I am actively seeking a port of call elsewhere as CCB can no longer support my efforts as executive director and I am hoping to find a position that will allow me to act instead of leader for the cause, as benefactor for the efforts.    You can read all about my reasoning in an article I just posted at www.ctcommunityboating.org .   I don't want to say good bye to Connecticut and I will be keeping a home here as long as I can, but I cannot keep up with the bills here in Connecticut as the leader of CCB and hope to find a position that will allow me to keep CCB funded while keeping my student loans, mortgage and all the other expenses involved with being a grown up maintained.    You can help CCB too by becoming a member or donating today- it will help maintain the organization while we transition into this next phase. Tough times call for creative solutions and so here we are. Thanks for your support over the years if you have contributed, but if you haven't, now CCB needs your support more than ever. We have pulled down our online donation portal, so if you would like to donate, please call 855-992-6287   Thank you and Fair winds- --   Capt. Chris German CEO Connecticut Community Boating
