Stafstrom welcomed the funding, which will be used to establish a Family Justice Center. The Center for Family Justice serves victims of domestic violence and sexual assault from Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull.

"I am very pleased that the funding approved by the Bond Commission will provide important needed upgrades for the state's first Family Justice Center," Stafstrom said. "I thank the governor for including this request on the Bond Commission's agenda for approval."

The nearly $480,000 will fund the renovations and improvements to its building at 753 Fairfield Ave., in Bridgeport.
