Bridgeport Officer Who Shot Teen Sued For November Incident

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport police officer who fatally shot a 15-year-old last week during a stolen car investigation is being sued by someone who claims the officer broke his nose during a televised arrest last year, according to the Connecticut Post.

Officer James Boulay, who has been on administrative leave since the shooting last week of 15-year-old Jayson Negon, is one of the officers named in a lawsuit filed Thursday by Haile Wilson of Bridgeport, the Connecticut Post reported. The lawsuit claims that during Wilson's arrest on Nov. 1, 2016, Boulay hit him several times in the face while he was restrained, the Connecticut Post reported.

Police say that when Wilson was cornered, he backed his car up and hit a police and then accelerated his car directly at an officer, the Connecticut Post reported. One officer fired shots at the car during the incident, according to the Connecticut Post. Wilson's lawsuit claims the shooting was unlawful, the officer's report said that he was concerned for the safety of the officers, according to the Connecticut Post.

Wilson eventually hit a tree and tried to flee on foot before being chased down and restrained by police, the Connecticut Post reported. He claims that at this point Boulay hit him in the face, according to the lawsuit cited by the Connecticut Post.

The Connecticut Post reported that the arrest was included in the A&E show "Live PD" that Bridgeport Police participated in, and that the city stopped participating in the show because of adverse publicity. Another officer who was featured in the show was arrested back in October.

Boulay is also being sued by a passenger involved in the case where Negron was shot last week.
